Cheating v. 2.1

On Craigslist’s Boston page today, there’s a post from a girl who recently discovered that she had been suckered into an online relationship with a guy who has a serious girlfriend. Oh, and it gets worse: The guy and his girlfriend have been dating for more than five years and were looking for rings together, and yet she says he “has not only sent me naked/sassy pictures of himself I have watched him get off on his webcam AND we talk on the PHONE. We have talked EVERYDAY for about 2 months now.” She confronted him about this, and he vanished. So, she told the girlfriend everything. Good for her, I say. (And I wrote her to say so.)

I did something similar a while ago. Or, well, not that similar. But anyway. It started when I found a blog that was solely about a guy’s efforts to cheat on his girlfriend. The writing was pretty wild: He’d detail how he lied to her, where he went with other girls and how much he enjoyed it. The whole thing was sort of sickening. Cheating is lousy and all, but I understand that everyone needs to make their own decisions. But bragging about it to the world? Now that’s unforgivable.

So, I did what anyone with a conscience and some Internet savvy would do: I compiled all the personal and geographical details he gave on the blog, figured out who he was and what college he went to, and then anonymously e-mailed the blog address to a bunch of random people at his school. I figured word would get around, and someone would finally pass the site along to the unnamed girlfriend. The blog disappeared pretty quickly. I hope he got what he deserved.

Holy crap, those are some excellent reporting skills. That's awesome.

Bad ideas, dude. Ever heard of guy code? Guy code means you stick up for guys. Women have all the advantages in relationships -- and now thanks to laws, in society as well. If some chick is stupid enough to think that a guy flashing her on cam constitutes a "relationship," she deserves what she gets.

Chivalry is so 1900s. If you think you're gonna impress todays wimmen by rishing to their side and being chivalrous, you're wrong. They'll just find the next jerk on a Web cam. Women are genetically wired to only like Alpha males, and this is clear Beta male behavior.

Anyway, someday you're gonna slip up somehow (maybe inadvertantly) and some guy is gonna break code and get you in hot water. It's a cliche, but "bro's before ho's."

Wow! You are my hero. Cheating seriously is a terrible thing! I do agree that people should be able to make their own decisions but bragging in blogs is awful. The way people use the internet makes me ill at times. At least we have the humor of happyscrappy to keep us smiling!

I... uh... was that a joke, Tony? Honestly, I can't tell. The "wimmen" and "thanks to laws, in society as well" lines makes me think it's a joke, but it was so straight-faced that I'm almost sold. Tony, can you help us out here? (And if you're really serious, I'd love you to elaborate on your line, "If you think you're gonna impress todays wimmen by rishing to their side and being chivalrous, you're wrong." What do you think impresses today's, uh, wimmen?)

Hey Tony..."guy code" means you stick up for what is decent and moral. It doesn't depend on the sex of the offender.
As for your "alpha male" example, check out the book Monkeyluv by Robert Sapolsky. Seems as if nice and kind gets the girl after all.

Did someone just say "bros over hoes" without irony?
